Gwensly Spanner didn’t build the Great 8 in a lab or borrow it from a textbook. He built it in the field — over more than a decade of designing and running lifestyle programs for children, families, and seniors across the Caribbean, in schools, kitchens, gyms, and partnerships with public health departments.
He’s coached more than 400 people, designed over 50 structured programs, and served thousands of healthy meals a year through his ventures Lean Body 365 and Food for Thought 365. Along the way, the people he worked with lost more than 800 kilograms — combined proof that the system holds up outside of theory.
The problem he kept seeing was always the same: people wanted to be healthy but had no clear way to measure whether they were getting there. So he built one. The Great 8 is the scoreboard he wished everyone had — simple enough to use every day, honest enough to actually change behaviour.
