The system

One system. Eight habits.
A number you can trust.

The Great 8 takes everything that matters for your health and turns it into a game you can actually win. Here’s exactly how the scoring works — and what each habit asks of you.

The scoring, in ten seconds

Every habit, once a day

0 — not completed
1 — partially completed
2 — fully completed

Eight habits × 2 points = 16 points a day. Aim for 12+.

The eight habits

What each one asks of you

1

No alcohol or soda

Cut or limit alcohol, soda, and sugary drinks.

None = 2 · One drink = 1 · Yes = 0
2

8+ hours of sleep

Give your body the recovery that makes everything else work.

8+ hrs = 2 · 6–7 hrs = 1 · Under 6 = 0
3

30+ min workout

Move your body with intention for at least half an hour.

Yes = 2 · Light activity = 1 · No = 0
4

8 glasses of water

Aim for 8 glasses (64 oz / 1.9 L) a day.

8+ = 2 · 5–7 = 1 · 0–4 = 0
5

Tracked workout

Write down your reps, sets, or weight — what gets measured improves.

Yes = 2 · Partially = 1 · No = 0
6

Healthy meals

Eat meals that actually support your goal.

All meals = 2 · 2–3 = 1 · 0–1 = 0
7

Progressive overload

Push a little further — more reps, sets, or weight than last time.

3+ exercises = 2 · 1–2 = 1 · No = 0
8

Daily weigh-in

Step on the scale and watch the trend, not the drama.

Yes = 2 · Several days = 1 · No = 0
Your targets

Daily, weekly, monthly

12+
Daily goal

Out of 16 points. A winning day.

96+
Weekly goal

Out of 112. Proof you strung good days together.

382+
Monthly goal

Out of 448 in a 28-day month. The level where transformation stops being luck.

Why it works

Better than a plain to-do list

A checklist tells you what to do. A score tells you how you’re doing — and that’s the part that changes behaviour. When your number is low, you don’t feel guilty; you look at which habit dragged it down and fix that one thing tomorrow. It turns vague guilt into a clear next move.
